I wore my Chicago marathon t-shirt during this morning’s run. It got some smiles, so I guess there were some runners in their final week in Central Park this morning.
Fitting in a Tempo 10 run (i.e. 12 miles in total) before work isn’t easy. I woke at 5am. Whimpered into my pillow for ten minutes before dragging my body out the door.
I’ve got to the point in my training where every muscle and every joint hurts for the first 0.5 - 0.75 miles before eventually beginning to feel okay. The Tempo run is intimidating these days because during the warm-up, I feel like I an going at a perfect speed, so as the Tempo section gets nearer, the idea of suddenly upping my pace becomes incredibly daunting.
Anyway. Enough of that. Done and done.
PS. Nike sizings: The Large is ridiculously dress-like on me - this is the Medium, which is definitely a little snug. Bear in mind I’m in the best shape I’ve been in, so when I’m not training, it’s not one that I would wear at all.
